Why The Week Seemed to Last Longer
I had to do a little review just to make sure I wasn’t imagining things. Here is a quick recap of the week.
Extra rain after the snow event causing slimy, slippery mud everywhere.
Hunting party after the troublesome elk. The buildup to this day was knife sharpening, proper clothing located and assembled, walkie-talkies cleaned and charged up. Minimal sleep the night before because of the anticipation of early morning scouting.
Getting a good visit in with my sis and extra duty with the morning chores since the hunters were away. And a new calf!
Bundling, always bundling…
Customers coming to the farm for beef orders.
Two days of firewood delivery because we could not get all the orders on one truckload.
The sold bull was picked up for delivery to the coast. The morning was spent moving him away from all his buddies in the bull pen to the show barn. Mike had to use the tractor to back up the stock trailer because the pasture has become a muddy swamp, then swapping the tractor for the pickup once on the solid driveway.
Harvesting three animals to keep our customers supplied that ordered quarters, halves or whole beef for their freezers.
Cutting more wood because we are nearly running out of bundle-able dry pieces. Moving cribs from garage that are already dry out to the barn, moving cribs from across the river into garage that need to be dried.
And bundling, always bundling…

I’m tired just reading about your week. I may have to go back to bed.
I do not comprehend your word, what is bed?
