They’re Back
After last week having several days of really uncomfortable temperatures, nature brought us back in to normal range with cooler weather and lightening strikes around the area. The more intense cells missed us here on the farm but many areas not too far from here had thunder, lightening and even some golf ball sized hail further east.
A farm located on the other side of Portland in the Columbia River Gorge lost six purebred bred Charolais heifers when lightening hit the tree they were huddled under to escape from the driving rain.
We only had spots of the hay field flattened as the rain pelted and muddied the puddles on the rock roads around the farm. We feel very fortunate that we had been given a milder version of what other places had seen that day.
