Some

blue sky and cloudsWe are not getting regular storms this year. The clouds build up and we see a few sprinkles, but very little moisture has been falling. I have seen many instances of virga, the clouds dropping rain but not reaching the ground.

Yesterday, the wind whipped up and the rain started. It looked like we were really in for a good soaking that we desperately need, but the shower only lasted about a half hour. That was the heaviest shower of the last couple days of expected rain and we measured only 6/100ths of an inch.

Three days of expected rain only produced a total of 26/100ths of an inch. A quarter of an inch is not much compared to spring rains that we are used to around here.
