Never Too Early

I had an email show up in my inbox, and it really made my day.
The whole all-encompassing grip of the world wide pandemic has thrown a kink into business, friendships, encounters and daily life, bringing the day to day as we knew it into an encumbered, snail slow world of masks, shortages and a whole new way to remotely try to get work accomplished. There are however those bright spots that show through the doom and gloom, giving a semblance or normalcy. This email gave me that bright spot.
Hello WCSWA volunteers!

It gets dark early, nature is wintering, so what does our plant committee do?
We rest a little, celebrate holidays, and look forward to our spring native plant sale!
We didn’t have a sale in 2021, and we’re extra hopeful for 2022!
“SAVE THE DATE” on your 2022 calendars—
Saturday March 12, 2022   WCSWA’S NATIVE PLANT SALE
in a spacious industrial building in North Plains.
The address is 30780 NW Highland Court, North Plains, OR.
This is the same new location as our monthly meetings.
Right now just SAVE THE DATE!  (A few helpers will be needed prior to the sale too.) We hope for many return volunteers, and we also look forward to involving new members.  You may sign up for positions/hours at the club’s regular, in-person January 25th meeting.  If we don’t see you then, we’ll be in touch.
It’ll be great to greet the public again, with smiles and native plants,
THANKS SO MUCH, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!   😀

Since missing the opportunity to have the sale last year, I am already looking forward to March 12 with great anticipation. A couple of days communing with plants and plant people as the deliveries pour in needing set up, to purchasers hauling them away just as fast makes for a fast paced and thoroughly wonderful time.

Susan – Beth is the plant sale committee’s point person for volunteers. I, too loved the upbeat email she wrote. We are optimistic that the plant sale will be held March 12. The facility is large with good circulation adding to confidence. Upbeat, bright spots are just what we need.
