Beyond the Farm

Watching Doubles

We are still dodging and dashing around rain showers this week.

The showers pop up between bright sunshine spells. It can be what appears to be blue sky and fairly calm when a quick blow changes the warm to several degrees cooler and rain begins to pelt down. It is a given that before each day is up, a sneaky shower will catch me when I am not fully rain-proofed.

I had the opportunity to watch the systems roll in and out as I was loading the firewood for this week’s deliveries. Protected by the barn roof as I stacked in the bed of the pickup, the glorious double rainbows would show up with dazzling beauty seemingly right before me in the pasture outside the barn.

I’m sure the pickup could have been loaded in half the time if the coming and going of the doubles didn’t distract me during the process. And I am hoping not to see quite as many as them during the hauling and unloading of the delivery process. I think I will still wear rain clothes just in case.
