Stuck In The Middle With You

This rain we have been getting has made the garden very happy, likewise with the grass in the fields and the trees in the forest. We really needed a good dousing and boy did we get it. The system was dubbed, ‘an atmospheric river’ by some of the weather guessers around here. It sure felt like the spring rains that we missed getting in March and April all dumped during one big system.

The poppies in the garden are huge and very showy with vibrant coral petals after the rains.

On the back side of the house, the California poppies are quite a bit smaller but very prolific with their bright tangerine nearly glowing with color.

Oregon Department of Forestry has been sending email messages out that this was enough rain for the area to delay fire season that was threatening to begin this week, so dealing with mud for a while is not a bad problem after our dry start to the warmer seasons.
