The pruning of the tall fir tree is now done. This is the tallest of all the fruit trees and by far the most vigorous grower of spring sprouts.
Most of the apples, Asian pear, plums and filberts have been finished already with the trimming and cleanup complete.
Still needed is a day for trimming the slanted apple and the unknown pear that are across the road.
This unknown pear tree sits in the middle of the pasture near the river. The fruit is shaped like a large Bartlett, has the taste of a cross between and Asian and a Bosc.
Do not adjust your monitors. This tree really is leaning that much. The pink on the trunk is my attempt to keep the beavers from gnawing the tree down completely.
Luckily that will only need the pole saw, no hand work with clippers, because they are my ‘wild child’ outsiders that are beyond normal!
