Beyond the Farm

Poet And Didn’t Know-it

I dabble in many things. One fun outlet for my diverse range of interests happens to be sending off tidbits of my writings to see if I can get published once and a while.

My latest foray into author-ism had to do with a small little publication called Three Line Poetry. They had sent out a prompt regarding quiet moments. I likened it to a snapshot in time and penned three submissions easily.

They did not care for my ditty about dappled sunlight through the forest canopy. They quickly rejected my thoughts on being one with all creatures, especially mosquitoes. But they did accept this one;

Alongside the tranquil water
Troubles of the day
Float slowly away from me

Simple, right? The rules for entering submissions are pretty basic

  1. Three lines only
  2. No title
  3. No rhyming
  4. A complete story

My piece will be part of the next publication to be printed soon. The online version is free to read and will be on the web when the book is printed. http://threelinepoetry.com
