In the Garden

Plum Raiders

The fruit trees on theĀ  cow-side of the road are part of their ‘fruit circuit’, the path that the wisest cows follow to check for downed apples, pears and plums while they meander around. There are two prolific plum trees that are part of that circuit. The plums are at their prime right now, very sweet and not yet mushy.
The raccoons and crows have been watching the trees just as the cows have been. The smallest of the two trees was picked clean last night. Since it was during nocturnal hours, the raccoons are deemed the culprits.
I have the critter-deter electronic gizmo set in the garden but these trees are far beyond the detection boundary and the raccoons have taken advantage.
We are watching the trees in the garden closely in an effort to thwart them setting their sights on the plums in the garden.
