Pacific Storms

Just when I thought the farm was already sinking, the forecasters call out for a high wind event with strong rains to slam into the coast.

Concerns over saturated ground with the tall fir trees can cause a lot of problems. We had a windstorm in December and we are still trying to clean up that mess. One big, limby tree broke down three fences when it uprooted.

The morning will be spent securing anything loose around the barns and yard. For those of you who are worried about the cattle, they are ready with their all-weather fur coats. The babies will huddle with the big cows for protection, and if it happens to turn off really bad, we will open up the loafing area of the barn

As for me, I am looking forward to spring and hopefully a little drier weather.
