On Hold In The Nursery Field

In our progressing story of #94 Plum and her expecting motherhood…da, da, daaa (I can hear the deep bass of a daytime serial series at this spot, with Plum looking at the camera with confusion and dread, both fearful and hopeful as she awaits the next chapter of As The Farm Turns or Days Of Our Cud Chewing Lives, da, da, daaa…).

The impending motherhood had us putting Plum out in the nursery field with the other four cow/calf pairs, she appeared like she wanted to go to the field since she was standing at the gate and she looked like she may have been in the first stages of labor.

The reality of the situation was that she lost her mucus plug, a sign that she is nearing her delivery time but it may still be a week or more before things progress. In the meantime, she has reunited with the other mothers, watching the young calves cavort around the field and is eating like a pig until time to deliver is actually here. She is basically on vacation right now. Enjoy it while you can Plum, your time for getting down to business is near.
