Beyond the FarmBeyond the Fields

Not The Usual Post

For those of you who follow along with my farm life, you have seen stories of smooth workings and those bumps in the road over the seasons. I am honored to be able to share the stories of the barn work, the fields that produce our hay and grazing space, the births and sometimes deaths of our herd. I have shared freely the struggle of invasive species like Scotch Broom and Tansy along with the struggle to balance nature along with running a farm.
This post is a little out of the ordinary from the norm, and I do not usually tout or advertise a particular product (except when I gush about my saw-on-a-stick, I LOVE that tool), but I wanted to share this information with you and put it in your hands to follow-up if you so choose.
I attend writing classes as often as I can sneak away from the farm. The most common class I attend is on Monday mornings right after I finish with my barn chores. After de-cow-ing enough to be presentable, I travel into town to sit in a classroom with a group of some of the most talented, compassionate, nurturing people that have become dear friends and supporters of not only my blog but writing in general. Many are retired from diverse fields. There are current and former teachers, lawyers and doctors while some of the group are still in college. Collectively we continue to grow in number and are threatening to bust out of the large room. Writing is shared, critiqued and honed during this class and I can’t help but glean expertise from the group. It is from this class that I share this story.
With all of these amazing people, it stands to reason that there will be items published now and again, and this happens many times throughout the year. Currently, a book has been published that I am so thrilled about I wanted to share it with my readers.
Fighting The Dragon by Diana Kay LubarskyThe book is called Fighting The Dragon by Diana Kay Lubarsky and is a collection of life stories in poem form. They are funny, sad, poignant and resonating, sometimes all in the same poem.
In Diana’s words,

Dear Friends,
I just wanted to share with you all that my book of poetry has just been published on line!
It is called Fighting the Dragon, and was published by an on-line company called Lulu.
The direct link (if I did it right) is:
Or, you can just go to Lulu, click on Shop, Click on Poetry, and either my book will appear with a lot of others, or it won’t and you will have to write in Fighting the Dragon in the search bar.
This book easy-reading and easy-to-understand while showing the smooth workings of Diana’s life along with those bumps in the road. If I didn’t know her as a tough city kid I would have guessed her as a dirt and mud ranch hand.
