New Roles

This is an update on the two year old bulls that were penned in the bull pen pastures together. Since separating the two from the bull pen, #41 has been placed back into the bull pen with newly weaned bull calf #48 after moving them out of the show barn where they got acquainted and now are buddies. Bull #39 is keeping company with the two show cows with their spring calves.

#39 is quite content with his new digs and two girlfriends. As you can see from the picture, youngster #39 is nearly as tall as Quiet who is a full sized, well established, mature cow.

They are fed in the show barn twice a day with lots of time to spend down in the woods beyond the barn. With the grass and clover growing so quickly right now they are really happy around the tall fir trees. They don’t seem to be in a hurry to come up from the woods and I usually have to walk down there in order to round them up for feeding time.
