Mud Gone For Now
It took four truckloads of rock, but the log landing is now back with a solid base instead of the foot of mud that was sitting along side the deck.
The dozer did a good job smoothing and compacting the rock. The test to see if it holds up will come this evening when a self-loading log truck will pull in to load the logs onto the truck that will be hauled to the mill.
Without this rock base the truck would have sunk in the mud and even the bulldozer would not have been able to pull it out.
Once the fall rains arrive, this spot will again turn into a water pit but the base of rock will help to keep it stable through the fall and winter.
