Last Log Truck Load

The log landing at the bottom of the hillside is much barer now than it was before the self-loading log truck arrived.

This last load is destined to go to our local mill, RSG or for those who know it by its other name, Olympic. This mill is located toward Clatskanie and is one of the closest to our farm. It is handy because our log truck driver is located in Vernonia which is between the mill and us. Many times he will pick up a load late in the evening the night before an early morning delivery and allow for time for an extra delivery during mill hours.

This load happened to be early morning but it was still very dusty during the loading and driving.

And that pile of wood and logs still left at the landing? Well those are mine and are on their way to be cut and split for the firewood project.

Even though the logging is done on this side of the river for this year, I am still (ahem) not out of the woods yet!
