Invading My Space

The sun was shining and it was a good day to clean up the back landing. I had a tankful of fuel, the saw ready to go and enough ambition to get a Gator load of wood hauled to the barn for processing into kindling sized pieces for our firewood project.

dog with firewoodJackson, the farm dog, had other ideas. He had enough ambition only to drag himself up into the bed of the Gator so that he could take a nap. The Gator is home base for all things dog related and he is the master of using the bed as one of his favorite spots to rest and recharge.

I had already gotten the start on stacking the 16″ wood in the bed of the Gator when I found Jackson lounging about. When I told him that he would have to find another place to rest, he hunkered down and began snoring loudly.

I stacked the wood around him and he opted to remain curled up next to the wood while I drove the skid road back to the barn. When I started up the motor of the Super Split he roused himself enough to jump off the side of the Gator so that he could rest without being disturbed on the sunny side of the barn.
