Interruption Of Story Line

As I sat down to the computer and wrote the heading for this day of the ongoing farm saga, I just had to laugh at the title that popped out of my head and onto the screen. I really have no story line, it is just the day to day activities, so an interruption is basically my life in one word. Things I plan, may or may not happen. Things I want, may never see fruition. It is the needs of the farm that come first. So instead of the birth announcement of our newest baby, we are interrupting this regularly scheduled and promised story, for a sale of one of the yearling bulls from the bull pen.

Several years ago, it may be considered many years ago, we sold three bulls to a trio of farmers out by the coast. They each had their own farms and owned herds that needed a bull to keep their respective cow/calf operations running. The three bulls left the farm in one stock trailer and each one was relocated to one of the farms. The smart farmers, rotated the bulls throughout the years so that each one had a new bull every couple of years. Those bulls have now been rotated out and new bloodlines need to come into play. With the age of the farmers, two have gotten out of the cow/calf business through retirement.

The farmer that is still in operation needed a new bull and we had one in the bull pen that fit the bill. When the farmer showed up at the farm with his own stock trailer, we loaded #49 Clint in and away he went to be the herd sire for a coastal farm.
