Honor Bestowed

Being members of the local Livestock Association means more than just volunteering at the Washington County Fair. It is more a lifestyle of stewardship, for the land, in the community and with volunteer partners of the Beaverton Rotary.

The Livestock Association works with 4-H and FFA youth in the county before, after and during the fair. Important life lessons are derived from animal ownership including nutrition, finance and animal health.

This year, Schmidlin Angus is honored to accept the nod from the Association for Stockman of the Year. We were given two plaques to commemorate the achievement, the small one is our permanent plaque and the large one is the rotating plaque that gets to stay at the farm for the year before moving on to the next recipient.

It is humbling to have our names added to the prestigious list of hardworking family farmers.
