Happy Tomato Update

A story last week spoke of my happy little tomatoes all rowed up and ready for the dehydrator.

The sheer thought of the tomatoes smiling at me made me giggle out loud hence the reason that I shared it with you hoping for a chuckle or two.

What I neglected to do was describe or show the ‘after’ picture.

This is for all you inquisitive minds that want to know the end of the story, here it is. The appearance is more ‘halloweenie’ than the try of before slices but they are still smiling, kind of.

But even this is not the end of the story. The dried slices are peeled off the trays and zip locked into quart freezer bags where they will hang out in the cupboard until the winter sets in and I want to add them to hearty soups, stews and casseroles.

They will probably make me happy all over again as I drop the smiling faces into the sauce.
