Getting Away From The Weather At Home

REALOregon has me away from the snow/no-snow drama at the farm this week. I do not have any barns to work in, there isn’t any wood to split or bundle and no meals to make. Mike and Marilyn have been left in charge. I will not be out shoveling snow, or mud, or muck. Instead of all that, I am enjoying beautiful ocean views along with snow/hail/wind/waves of Newport (the weather is about the same just not the layer of snow on the ground and much more wind with bits of brilliant sunshine).

The drive over early this morning had me in a line of about twenty vehicles behind a snowplow, the driver was not only clearing the road but was laying down a nice layer of pebbles to keep the traffic safely on the road

I am looking forward to hearing about the commerce side of a beach town, yummy seafood fare, and the whole ocean experience. I had worked in the town of Seaside for several years but did not get the opportunity to learn much about the dynamics of the town since work kept me so busy in the retail sector with the tourists filling the town most of the time.

And did I mention that as a group we will be getting a lot of seafood? Hot diggity dog, it’s like I drove over the Coast Range and am now in heaven. I’m sure that I will be learning a lot while I am here along with the get-away and will be filling all of my readers in on my adventures as I go.
