From The Barn

Our beautiful winter weather has been going on for a week now and is expected to last for a while more.

The cows that occupy the show barn and the surrounding fields are finding that they are spending more of their time inside the loafing area of the barn rather that heading out the trails in the fields toward the woods. I don’t blame them, the barns are the only places that are not deep with snow.

When they do venture out, they stay on the trodden paths.

We are keeping busy making sure the ice is broken on the stock tanks so they can get water when they are thirsty. We are feeding almost double the amount of hay that we had been doling out just before this winter weather system moved into the area.
