Four Eggs In A Nest

When pulling out the hay equipment, we found that the winter storage area for the mower was viewed as a perfect spot by a bird.

We had to take off several guards in order to service the mower before use and as we removed the guards we found this nest with four eggs deep inside the working parts of the machine.

In order to prepare the mower for use we had to remove the nest and eggs. No mother was spotted around when we found the nest so figure that it must have been abandoned.

Maybe she realized that heavy equipment was not a very suitable spot to raise a family.
