Crawdads

We have been seeing a few crawdads or crayfish scamper around the rocks in the river.

Some years the river is teeming with these little creatures. During these years there is enough for several feasts of the delicious critters. There is an ebb an flow to this bounty depending on conditions.

This year the crawdad numbers are low and we will not be catching any for our table.
