Clouds Showing Off For Daybreak
This morning thunderheads were brewing to the east and north. The morning sun had not yet broken past the hill of trees but were highlighting the clouds as they bubbled and grew before shrinking away. By 10am the weather had turned back to hot and looked like it would get as warm as yesterday. By mid-day it had turned muggy hot and uncomfortable.
Virga (rain coming from clouds that does not reach the surface) could be seen coming from the clouds that were again boiling thunderheads. These were not the pretty billowing beauties as the sunrise had, these were lumbering and slate gray. As the sun set for this day, the coast was clear and I could not see any clouds to the west, a cooler breeze had started to cool the area.
PS for those of you who are wondering how the counting is going for fog counting, so far we have not have as much August fog as the last couple of years. If the Old Farmers Almanac is to be believed, the fog is trending for a milder, less snow winter. I will have a complete tally after the end of the month.
