Making Room To Process
The barn across the river has been the designated space for the firewood to dry and cure but we have been running out of room. Looking at the logistics to get the wood from the cured state to the bundled firewood state we realized that we needed more space and electricity. Since we only have a generator for power when across the river, we have moved the wood that is ready to bundle to the bull barn where there is plenty of room and power.
When starting this project, we vowed to keep the process simple by avoiding the need to shuffle wood around all the time. Hopefully this trial season will give us a clear plan for the following harvests and the moving around business will be at a minimum.
We now have about 4 cord of wood in this barn ready to bundle. That process, we hope, will start in the next few weeks.
