Fig Season
My own fig twigs are growing nicely, but will not be producing yet this year. The twigs are about two feet tall so far and my biggest challenge is simply making sure that they stay damp through the long, hot days of summer. I will be replanting them in the fall to a well-composted spot.
Luckily the family that gifted me with the fig twigs have an abundant supply on their own trees and I have been enjoying the extra fruit tremendously. Any ones that are soft and cannot not get eaten before they turn to a sticky goo, get cut and dried in the dehydrator so that I can enjoy them all year long.
