In Search Of Identification

While trimming branches along the new road that Mike is constructing in the forest, I came across a plant that I am unfamiliar with. I snapped a couple of pictures and will watch so see what becomes of the plants as they grow.


Initially I saw three stalks in a cluster and they were about 6 inches tall. They look like asparagus shoots the way the stems grow an inch or so before sending up the next new growth with tips that also resemble asparagus.
I pulled one out of the ground and instead of roots found a nodules at the base where more stems could form. About 30 feet away from the original plant, a few more clusters were found.
Identification is not for certain yet, but I have been reading about a wild plant called pinedrops (a relative to asparagus and agave plants). The investigation will continue…
