Wild Current In Full Bloom

The wild current bush in the front yard is in full bloom and is very showy. This plant came from a small twig that we dug out from under a bunch of fir trees along the old railroad grade about four years ago.
The first year after transplanting looked bad for the plant. It had green leaves when we dug it up but over the summer they shriveled quite a bit, but it was good to see the red blossoms start showing the next spring. The plant fills out and gets taller a little bit each year.
The fruit of sets on the limbs long after the blooms have faded for the year and the berries look like small, graying blueberries. They are edible and some people make jam or wine out of the native plant. I do not care for the bland flavor of the fruit and prefer to save the berries for the fall birds to feast on.
