Searching For Gold
The garden is beginning to wake from the winter-long slumber and it is time to get the hoe and my hoeing muscles working again. The strawberry plants are just beginning to set a new leaf or two while dandelions are popping new plants every day.
Since I don’t use chemicals to control the weed, the hoe will be my defense. The bright flowers make it easy to spot each weed. They grow so fast that each day a new crop of gold awaits.
I will search out the blooms and tackle the weed and root together with my trusty garden tool. This gold dance between me and the dandelions will continue on well into the summer when the weeds will eventually tire of the hot summer sunshine.
