A New Coat For Winter
The Washington County Road Crew is also gearing up for fall and winter with new coats of paint in the form of stripes on Timber Road.
Our little 10 mile county road becomes the by-pass when Highway 26 from Portland to the Coast has issues.
Several years ago the tunnel, just a few miles up the highway from us, had a partial collapse and our road became the Highway route for several months while the tunnel was being repaired. Many times a year, accidents force traffic to go this county road as do snow and ice events.
These stripes now will mean safer conditions for those who need this by-pass and are unfamiliar with the local area especially when the need is in the middle of the night or middle of a storm.
