Weeders in the Garden
As you may recall, I had a large group of writers here at the farm for a special holiday edition of my normal Monday Morning Writing Group. This was a first visit for many of the new members and we had a walking tour of the highlights of the farm with a stop at the log landing, the show barn and the trees down by the river.
Several members of the group who are regulars to the farm, broke away from the tour and headed out to the garden for some quality time pulling weeds.
After all the visitors had left for the day, I noticed the amazing amount of weeding was done while I was showing the group around the place. It was like a group of elves snuck into the garden and cleaned up the rows of peas, onions, strawberries, lettuce, radishes and all the other veggies.
I am so grateful for those elves, and have invited them back anytime they get the hankering for an hour or two of garden time.
