Blackie and Cole

Not to be out-done by Rosalie, Blackie also went into labor during the thunderstorm. Blackie had a bull calf about daybreak. Cole weighed in at 71 lbs.

Blackie had given birth to Cole away from the herd, so we fed the mother her hay separately. We did not want to disturb the mother/son bonding during this first day. By the next morning, Blackie had moved her and her baby in with the rest of the cows and calves.
