The next three days are forecasted to be under the influence of Atmospheric Rivers. Lots of steady rain expected in the Pacific Northwest.
The weather systems are coming up from the south out of the tropical warm ocean, it is called The Pineapple Express bringing with it fairly warm weather with the rain. The good news of this deluge is that the mountains are not yet full of snow that would melt at a tremendous rate, that is when we do get flooding problems in this area. Since there is no snowpack yet, the extra moisture won’t be added to rain system.
The weather prediction makes me happy that we have our firewood delivery completed during the last day of dry conditions before the onslaught.
We are still going to see high water and mud issues. You will find me fully geared up and digging trenches to divert water away from areas we do not want it puddled and making sure our water bars on the logging roads are holding so mud doesn’t flow toward the river.
