Plum Moved To Nursery Field

We have been keeping an eye on #94 Plum for the last couple of days since she has started looking like she may be getting ready to calve. Last year she birthed sweet little Mirabelle on 2/2, Ground Hogs day. Originally it looked like she may do it again this year with a repeat performance, but during the last week she has moved forward with her preparations.

The backend of Plum as she quickly moves to a good looking slab of hay. The calf is surprised I am snapping pictures and not concerned about the new critter in the nursery field.

Yesterday evening as we were beginning the evening chores with the drive across the bridge. Plum was standing at the gate of the nursery field. She had been waiting for us to show up, all we had to do was open the gate and she meandered in to be with the other four cow/calf pair.

She did not look like she was in labor as we let her in to the nursery pasture since she headed right over and began eating dinner with the others. She is one of our mature cows and knows the routine well. We would not be surprised if we find her with her newest family member in the morning.
