Still Finding A Few
These mid-December beauties were harder to find, and the walk was several miles longer than the average hunt. But me and my wandering dogs enjoyed the foggy, ethereal day as we tromped along the forest trails.
It was quite the surprise as we were heading down out of the forest to find cow #9 (Francie calf’s mother) near the half-way point of the hill at the sharp corner that traverses the tip of the canyon. She had been out scouting for the grasses that grow along the road Mike had punched in two years ago. She was munching along as we were moving slowly downward and she continued her foraging as we went by. Francie was spotted near the bottom of the hill with the older calves and not paying any attention to where her mother had moved off to.
