Oh Crap

Black Angus calf with poop on his headEver have one of THOSE days, the kind when every thing goes wrong. It seems like it is just small annoyances at first but the hits just keep coming, and coming.

I think it was one of those days for our cow Crystal’s baby boy Lead. At two months old, Lead gets picked on by the larger calves. He is tough but some times the critters get the best of him and then he sticks close to his mama until the bullies find some other calf to pick on.

On this day, he was tucked in close to Crystal, a bit too close and at the wrong end. Poor Lead ended up with a head coated in poop. It glomed on him like a green helmet and stayed throughout the day because it dried before it fell off.

Oh Lead, we have all had one of THOSE days, hopefully tomorrow will be better!
